GWAUN CAE GURWEN
Historical Mining town in South Wales
Gwaun Cae Gurwen is our nearest local town, it was a historic mining village in South Wales. In the 1930's the village had 6/7 working mines. In 2019 the remaining mine at Celtic coal was retired with the renovation of the area starting May 2019. Tairgwaith is our village just a minute or so by car from Gwaun Cae Gurwen, few people know about us hence the charm and peaceful location with our common land opening onto the hills .
The town of Gwaun Cae Gurwen is now very different and is a thriving village with Ammanford, Pontardawe and Brynamman all within a few minutes drive. Below are a few of the local businesses that may be useful on your visit with us.
